This mission statement reflects our beliefs that Christ is present in our ministry. We fulfill our mission by being respectfully-operated, Christ-centered, and academically strong in all we do.
Teachers strive to integrate their faith and God’s Word in all aspects of the learning environment. This mission is not just present in our religion class, but in all our academics.
Our ministry includes making disciples of all the children who come to Zion Lutheran School, so they can communicate the gospel message of Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior to everyone they meet.
Every day offers an opportunity to include God in all that we do, whether it’s in the classroom, on the playground, in chapel, on field trips, or in the lunchroom. An opportunity to share our faith is always open.
Included in this mission is our regular academic schedule. We teach our core subjects to students, preparing them for their future high school needs and beyond. With our small-school atmosphere, students receive more one-on-one attention from our teachers, thus enhancing their learning environment. Quality time is spent on the needs of all our students.
Our teachers are trained through the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod program. All have valid Minnesota state licenses and stay up-to-date with educational improvements for use in their classrooms. They teach in their areas of certification, thus creating a more conducive learning environment.
Zion Lutheran School is the only elementary school in Mayer. It has the great opportunity to serve our fast-growing community. We offer many extracurricular opportunities, including band and piano lessons, athletics, musicals, math and/or science fair, service projects, and much more. During National Lutheran Schools’ Week in March, we offer many fun activities that students and families can participate in. There is always something to see and enjoy at Zion.
Zion offers the love of Jesus Christ to all students and families. Our goal is to touch every child that God entrusts to our care, by teaching them to carry out the love of our Savior in all that they do and say, no matter what the circumstance. Our theme for this present school year is a very important verse that God gave to us, which is taken from Col. 3:17, “Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
